Die Entwickler des Open Source Dateisystem für verteilten Speicher über mehrere Server, GlusterFS, haben das Bugfix Release 3.8.1 veröffentlicht. Mit der Stable und Long-Term-Version 3.8.0 gibt es auch einen monatlichen Updatezyklus, der neben der Beseitung von Fehlern auch die Stabilität von GlusterFS verbessern soll. Diese Version ist auch für produktiv Umgebungen geeignet, weshalb ein Update ohne Problem und recht einfach installiert werden kann. Weiterhin ist geplant, dass die Long-Term-Stable Version Updates für ein volles Jahr erhält. Minor Releases sollen alle 3 Monate erscheinen, wobei die kommende Version 3.9 als Short-Term-Stable gilt und Updates erhält bis die nächste Version drei Monate später kommt.
GlusterFS Version 3.6. erreicht End-of-Life wenn die Version 3.9 veröffentlicht wird.
Insgesamt wurden in Gluster 3.8.1 35 Patches eingepflegt die 32 Bugs beheben:
