Die Entwickler der Open-Source Firewall, OPNsense, haben das Release 22.1.2 veröffentlicht. Das Update fügt GUI Support für Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT) und SYNC Cookies, die vom FreeBSD 13 Betriebssystem unterstützt werden, hinzu. Weiterhin kündigen die Entwickler an, dass die Arbeit an einer Modernisierung des Interface Subsystems und der Verbesserung des neuen DDClient Dynamic DNS Plugin weiter voranschreitet.
Die Entwickler kündigen mit dem Release 23.1 die Verwendung von LibreSSL ab. Gründe hierfür sind u.a. die sich weiterhin erschwerte Integration, die langsame Entwicklung in den letzten Jahren und die die sinkende Nutzung von LibreSSL. LibreSSL wurde in den letzten 7 Jahren integriert, jedoch wird dies mit der kommenden OpenSSL 3 Version, immer schwerer. Es sind alle Entwickler angehalten rechtzeitig umzustellen.
